In
addition to stationary PEM Fuel Cells, LOGAN can also provide a fuel
cell solution for commercial stand-by power requirements typical of
communications and server systems. The Plug Power GenCore unit pictured
at right is a 5kW stand-by power supply that uses standard industrial
hydrogen cylinders as the fuel supply. Depending upon the particular
application, the unit may supply 24, 48, or 128 volts DC current to
customer loads. The standard installation with 6 hydrogen “K”
type cylinders allows for approximately 33 kilowatt hours of continuous
service under emergency power conditions.
