Plug Power GenSys

Over the past four years, our technical team has installed and tested over 60 Plug Power 5kW units at various locations throughout the US and overseas using both natural gas and LPGas fuels. The test results have been very satisfying and indicative of significant progress toward achieving commercial status. These test sites include homes, fire stations, apartment buildings, offices, gymnasiums, and laundromats. Our demonstration fleet has accumulated over 500,000 kilowatt hours while achieving 91% overall availability. We expect to be able to offer homeowners and small commercial sites the convenience of these products by mid 2009. Until then, we will be working through the final product test cycle to prepare for its commercial unveiling.

Small scale Fuel Cells will also be capable of providing stand-alone power in remote locations where there is no utility grid service. For developing nations, small scale Fuel Cells hold the promise of bringing economic development to villages and small communities with clean, quick, and reliable electrification.
