The
PureCell 200 formerly known as the PC25 is a 200kW Phosphoric Acid
(PAFC) Fuel Cell power plant. This Fuel Cell product was the
first to achieve commercial status in 1992 as the PC25A. Over
275 individual units have been delivered to customers around the world
and since then the product has achieved an enviable record and set
the bar for all Fuel Cell products that follow.
The unit has two electrical operating configurations to meet the specific
customer requirements. Normally it operates in parallel with the utility
grid, however, following a grid disturbance it will automatically
isolate the grid and continue to provide power to a dedicated customer
load. Multiple units may be integrated under a supervisory controller
to achieve customer power requirements in excess of 200kW. A
static switch can be added to assure uninterruptible power to mission
critical loads.
The unit is equipped with two customer heat exchangers that can meet
customer thermal loads ranging from 140 to 250 degrees F while supplying
up to 800,000Btu/H.
The
unit operates with an average electrical efficiency of 39% over the
life of the power section, which has a five year design life.
The PureCell 200 is CARB ’07 compliant and assures the customer
with a clean, quiet and reliable Fuel Cell solution.
