Project Description

Logan Energy is the named contractor for the manufacture and supply of a hydrogen fuel cell bus refueller, which we will install and commission on site in Belfast. Translink, one of the project’s leads and Northern Ireland’s primary transport provider, will use the hydrogen refuelling station to refuel three hydrogen-fuelled double-decker buses that will serve routes in Belfast. The ‘Northern Ireland Hydrogen Transport’ project, which is being led by Energia Group and public transport partner, Translink, received £1.9 million of grant funding from the Hydrogen for Transport Programme (HTP) – an initiative launched by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), which supports the development and deployment of zero emission road transport. The primary objective is to increase the number of publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling stations and to grow the number of fuel cell vehicles on UK roads.
